California Academy of Sciences - San Francisco

Recent renovation has created a sparkling building - we spent half a day here (Jerry). I loved the museum! It was so fascinating to watch the fish swim around. When they fed the fish they would all move to the food in a big clutter. I touched starfish and a sea urchin. The starfish had a hard skin. The sea urchin wrapped itself around my finger. It was cool. I also liked the mammal exhibit. I learned that there is a striped rabbit discovered in 1999 in Vietnam.

Day 27

Junior Ranger program

Each of the national parks offers a junior ranger program, allowing kids to earn their stripes and receive a patch and badge while learning the ropes. After reviewing Katie's submission, the park ranger then swears her in and makes a big announcement, asking for a round of applause for the newest junior ranger. Doesn't take much to make us parents proud.

Our sole celebrity encounter...

We saw Rhea Pearlman traversing through the wilderness of Jackson, WY (sans Danny DeVito). Chris, whose celebrity radar never rests, made the call and confirmed it with another tourist. Forgot to provide this important update two weeks ago.
